Happy Pride Month!

We have gained some new followers so we're taking time to reintroduce our staff!

Therapy dog #2. This makes TWO options for our director Rebecca to bring in for clients. We're so happy to have this option available in our work. Clients who prefer to be scheduled on a day without a dog present have that choice. *posted with permission*

This is a great description of the juice behind Emotionally Focused Therapy. You have a well honed survival mechanism, that keeps you behind a shield of honor, originally designed to protect you and your heart.

What it looks like in my head when all of us the therapy room (therapist AND each relationship partner) begin to nail down what the cycle of disconnection looks like. It is such a feeling of victory when couples begin to understand and start believing that neither one of them is the problem, but instead that when the cycle takes over, they both retreat to familiar, albeit harmful, paths to protect themselves.

On this Mother's Day weekend, a reminder.

We are pleased to announce that Strength & Ease Psychotherapy is now accepting clients for couple therapy for June.

Unrealistic expectations of your relationship is a set up for both partners. Check in with yourself about what you're anticipating - making it explicit allows you and your partner to talk about what IS realistic between you.

It's National Infertility Awareness Week and we couldn't let it pass without raising awareness here.
