After graduating with Psychology and Spanish degrees from Drew University, I completed my Masters in Social Work at New York University. I have lived in Charlottesville since 2002 and worked in community mental health for several years.
At Strength & Ease, I utilize an eclectic set of modalities tailored to each person or couple, focused on building inner resilience, reducing anxiety and depression, and improving relationships.
I am trained in attachment work, Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, Trauma-Informed Care and mindfulness, as well as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and the connection between cognition, emotion, and behavior.
I have a special interest in adult life stress and transitions, couples therapy, parenting, and perinatal mental health for women and men. Most importantly, I believe there is transformative power in the therapeutic relationship.
