Our team is built on the mission of becoming relationship experts. We specialize in supporting couples in deepening emotional bonds and cultivating meaningful sexual relationships. As attachment-based scientists of love, we use the experiential process in sessions to focus on how it feels to be you in your most intimate relationship. We enter distressed systems in an embodied, heart-forward way and are well-poised to bear the complexity of relationships.
We believe that secure, loving connection—both emotional and sexual—is foundational to human well-being. Guided by the principles of empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based care, our therapeutic work is informed by science and grounded in interactive, relational, and experiential methods. We create safe, nonjudgmental spaces where couples can explore their emotional and sexual worlds, repair relational injuries, and build lasting, resilient intimacy.

Rebecca Tedford, LCSW, PMH-C, ICEEFT Certified EFT Therapist & Supervisor Candidate, licensed in VA & DC
Rebecca loves to get into the inner workings of couples and discover what is blocking the message of love from being sent to and received by each partner. In her work, she is attuned to and tends to the needs of the relationship as a whole while helping each partner learn to turn toward the other. She believes safe, secure relationships are the most healing across the lifespan and offers both weekly sessions and couple therapy intensives. Her style is inviting, safe, and relational, with a sprinkle of irreverence.
On a limited basis, Rebecca uses her certification and experience in perinatal mental health to support couples who have or are experiencing a family building crisis. She is especially well equipped to help those who have experienced a perinatal loss (infertility, stillbirth, miscarriage, or infant death) and/or birth trauma.
Rebecca also provides supervision for those seeking EFT certification as well as those seeking LCSW licensure in Virginia.

Evans Nexsen, MA, Resident in Counseling
Practice Residency: EFT Couple Therapy
Evans approaches her work with an urgency of understanding how her clients are coping in moments of disconnection with their partners and how this is often related to what we as humans experienced in our families of origin. As a mother to young children within a family impacted by chronic illness, she understands the beauty and despair of both parenting and partnership. She has extensive training in how the sexual cycle and emotional disconnection are intimately related as well as how ADHD impacts connection and empathy between partners. She melds her experience and training to support couples along the path of reconnecting with themselves and with those whom they love most.
