Consultation with Rebecca

Consultation

Rebecca offers both consultation with therapists and supervisors. For therapists, Rebecca provides individual case consultation and guidance for best therapeutic practices. For supervisors, Rebecca provides guidance on team dynamics, supervision of supervision, and trainings for teams. She excels in both in the one-on-one format of case consultation and is highly effective in teaching to groups. Her work is experiential and focuses on building both clinical skills and the therapist’s awareness of how they show up in the therapeutic relationship.

EFT Supervision

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) supervision is a specialized form of supervision designed to support therapists looking to hone their EFT skills and/or work toward certification. Rebecca’s passion lies in nurturing the whole therapist and creating an alliance wherein you can experientially learn your way of using EFT. In supervision, we work together through case consultation, review of recorded sessions, and enhancement of the technical moves in specific therapeutic interventions.

The primary goals of EFT supervision include:

  1. Skill development: I am gifted at helping clinicians to apply and improve their EFT skills to bring focus and excellence into each session. Therapists refine their understanding and application of EFT techniques through clear, practical feedback that allows them to implement interventions, in each session, and track themes over time.
  2. Case conceptualization: Even therapists with advanced skills struggle to help clients. I want to help you understand the dynamics of your clients’ relationships, identify patterns, and feel less alone in those deep and tricky places of journeying with clients’ hearts and most important relationships.
  3. Personal and professional growth: EFT supervision means you get to be the focus. I provide a space for us to explore the self of the therapist: celebrating and growing your clinical strengths while exploring blocks and barriers to executing clinical interventions. Working with clients, especially in the experiential manner that EFT requires, can be emotionally demanding. As EFT is a therapeutic approach that prioritizes emotion and emotional regulation as the key organizing agents in relationship interactions, we too prioritize the emotions that come alive in you as you work with clients and how you regulate those in and out of session.
  4. Adherence to the model: While therapy is a craft, I work to ensure that EFT therapists adhere to the principles and techniques of EFT, maintaining fidelity to the model and enhancing therapeutic effectiveness. For those seeking certification, our work will help you hone your craft while adhering to ICEEFT requirements.

Overall, EFT supervision serves as a supportive and educational resource for therapists practicing this approach, facilitating their professional growth, and enhancing the quality of care for their clients.
