When did you lose your no
Reminder: Change happens slowly. If it feels like shifts in your relationship are taking for.ev.er, remember that change takes place when conditions are good enough. When we're all getting good enough sleep... when we can have a little compassion and perspective... when we have enough bandwidth to find some grounds.
We got some bad messages as kids - I think of it as dirty water we had to swim in, even in these exact words weren't specifically used.
Here's to getting some true rest this weekend. The invitation is to allow your body time to to relax. Often we treat rest as recharge, in anticipation of future effort.
If you do this, you're not alone. And it makes so much sense. It can feel a whole lot safer to criticize, blame, get resentful, and protest when we feel disconnected from the ones who matter most. Our nervous system is terrified and we panic. We send jabs from afar to get a reaction, because any attention feels better than none.
